September boxing update

I just wanted to let you all know some updates about my anticipated boxing debut in November at the Guns N' Hoses. I thought about posting a blog about all the training I've been doing but thought that would be too boring lol.

We got an email this week explaining how the matches would be set up. Currently there are 37 people signed up to box. Last year they had 17 matches so 34 people got to box. It ran too late last year so this year they are only have 13 matches (meaning only 26 people will get matched). The match ups will be based on weight and skill. I don't think it necessarily means the best 26 will make the cut, but that the 26 have to have someone similar to be matched to.

They have to have the match-ups made by October 1st. Long story short, I hope to make the cut and will definitely know by October 1st who I'm boxing (if I'm boxing).

You can get tickets online or you can get them directly from me. You can avoid the Ticketmaster fees if you go through me (aye!). My wonderful sister's firm is sponsoring me for the match. I've been training at two awesome places (see here and here).

As I told a few of you, originally I wasn't nervous at all about getting hit, I was just nervous about getting clobbered. Now I'm just nervous about making the cut. I also just wanted to give everyone a heads up- I know I have a lot of family/friends who are planning on coming down. Know that I'm working hard everyday (literally no days off) but there's a chance I won't make the big dance.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, and hopefully I'll see everyone on November 8th.
